Gunadhar Panigrahi, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr. Panigrahi received his undergraduate Pre-Professional in Science degree from Utkal University: Orissa, India in 1967, and his medical degree from V.S.S. Medical College, Burla, Sambalpur University; Orissa, India in 1972. He completed a flexible internship at V.S.S. Medical College Hospitals after which he was a Research Fellow at Copenhagen County Hospital in Glostrup, Copenhagen, Denmark, completing that program in 1975.
Dr. Panigrahi then came to the United States and trained in Internal Medicine at Wayne State University Hospitals in Detroit, Michigan, after which he completed his fellowship in Cardiology at that same institution. He has practiced cardiology in the Hampton Roads since completing his training in 1983.
Dr. Panigrahi is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is also Associate Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Dr. Panigrahi’s areas of interest include interventional cardiology, peripheral vascular intervention, as well as transthoracic and stress echocardiography.
