Dr. Maruthi V. Gottimukkala, MD

Dr. Gottimukkala received his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences, Physics and Chemistry from Andhra Loyola College in Vijayawada, India. He then received his medical degree from Guntur Medical College, Guntur, India, with a M.B.B.S in 1977. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine, as well as fellowship in Cardiology, at Wayne State University Hospitals in Detroit, MI. Dr. Gottimukkala was awarded South India Research Institute’s Gold Medal for securing the highest number of marks in the prize examination in Internal Medicine, conducted by the Department of Medicine Guntur Medical College, Guntur, India, for the year 1976. He also stood first in Medicine in the University Examination for the year 1976.

Dr. Gottimukkala is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, as well as Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a testamur, Heart Rhythm Society special competency examination in cardiac pacemaker and defibrillation implantation and followup in 2005. He is Assistant Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia.

Dr. Gottimukkala has interest in all aspects of invasive and non-invasive cardiology, including special interests in interventional cardiology, and cardiac pacemaker and defibrillation implantation and followup.
